How Glen Cove Can Fund Your Home Improvements

The program provides home repair funding for eligible senior and disabled residents. See if you qualify.

Glen Cove senior citizens and disabled persons can apply to receive home improvement funds as part of the Residential Rehabilitation Program.

The program provides funding for home repairs, including energy conservation, code violation remediation and handicap accommodations.

Through this program, the Glen Cove Community Development Agency has been able to fund eight projects totaling $112,200 over the past four years, says Mayor Tim Tenke.

“Those projects have included roof/siding replacement, boiler/hot water installation, window/door replacement, ramp and chair lifts, and handicap bathroom accommodations," Tenke said in a press release.

This program is available for senior citizens 60+ and disabled residents who have resided in their current home for more than one year, meet income guidelines and be up-to-date in payment of their school and property taxes.

“For Glen Cove residents in need, funding from this program can make a substantial improvement to the quality of their home life and we appreciate the support of Nassau County to make this funding available to our Glen Cove residents,” Ann Fangmann, CDA Executive Director, said.

A pre-screening application is available in English and Spanish on the agency’s website – www.glencovecda.org – click on the Programs tab, and then click on Residential Rehab Application.

Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis, and funding is limited.
