Let's Talk About Cones, Glen Cove
How do you feel about residents putting cones in front of their houses so feast attendees can't park there?

In light of the many crowds coming to Glen Cove for the St. Rocco's Feast this week, Glen Cove Patch went to Facebook to ask the controversial question:
How do you feel about residents putting cones in front of their houses so feast attendees can't park there?
Let's just say the responses were divided. However, it seems most commenters were in support of the cones.

Here's what everyone had to say:
Against cones
- "This is benefitting their church. Most of them have driveways. It is only 5 days. Sorry, I am not so sympathetic to them."
- "Regardless, they don't own the street in front of their house and it sucks a**when you have to park several blocks away because people are selfishly hoarding valuable space. I WILL be moving cones, bottom line."
Pro cones
- "When I lived there I had to do it otherwise I had nowhere to park when I got home from work. I know what it is like to live there & it wasn't always pleasant."
- "I'm not gonna lie....i would do the same if I lived in that area lol."
- "They have the right. They live thru 5 days of constant traffic around their home. Not to mention the pigs that litter their streets and properties I don’t think it’s a big deal."
- "I don’t blame them for doing it. I wouldn’t want to come home from work and can’t park. It is public parking and people can move the cones but i wouldn’t move them. You move the wrong persons cones you will def come back to some flat tires!"
- "They offer a free shuttle from St Patrick’s so go park there if you’re going to the feast and don’t live in the neighborhood. It’s not that serious."
Neutral
- "State law states you can not block a portion of any public road unless approved. However, I understand it."
- "If they do it because they need the spot for their own vehicles, I can understand it, but many do it just to be d***hebags. They know who they are."
- "I sympathize. It is not legal per se, but the residents there are putting up with a whole feast in their backyard. Let's cut them some slack, enjoy the best Feast in the East, and take the shuttle bus or enjoy a walk. Believe me, when you get old or hurt and walking is difficult, you will miss that walk. In the mean time these people in this neighborhood are your hosts, treat them with respect."
- "What if they come home from work and can't park...kinda sucks, but blocking for no reason is d***hey."
- "Honestly, since as long as I can remember cones have always been there during feast season. Does it suck, yes. But it’s always been that way. Park a little further or grab an Uber. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Not sure why it’s becoming one now."
