
Brian Martinez, a City of Glen Cove Department of Public Works employee and volunteer firefighter, will be leaving city employment in order to fulfill his dream of becoming a full-time fireman.
Martinez will be attending a six month fire and ambulatory academy in Maryland. Upon graduation he will become a fulltime fireman in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
Martinez and his family were invited to the mayor’s office and he was issued a certificate of appreciation for his work both as a volunteer firefighter and as a city employee.

“Brian has been a fantastic city employee and an outstanding member of Glen Cove’s Bravest,“ Mayor Reginald Spinello said.
“His choice to lead a career of public service is inspiring,” Spinello added. “ It is certainly our loss, and Maryland’s gain. I wish him the best of luck.”
