To make sure Glen Cove, my hometown, is the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The fiscal condition of the city under Mayor Tenke has greatly deteriorated and I am greatly concerned about over-development in the city.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am an outspoken, independent individual who is not afraid to take hard stances on issues. Many in the current administration have voted 100% with Mayor Tenke. We need independent voices on our city council to best represent our diverse community.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)?
They have a record of placing the interests of developers who seek to invest and build in our city ahead of the interests of our residents. They have fiscally mismanaged our city's finances. Just this year, taxes increased by 7.32%.
How do you think local officials performed in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently?
The current administration closed our city down longer than any neighboring community. I would have pushed for the city to be at the forefront of tackling the pandemic instead of closing down. I believe we could have been informative to our residents.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
As a lifelong resident of our city, I believe we need to be more inclusive and need to try and get more people in our diverse community involved.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
While on the council, I was an independent voice who had a record of voting against Mayor Tenke. who was trying to pierce the tax cap, as well as over-development.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Be yourself.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
As a young person, I like to think that my generation is part of the future of our city and I want to be a part of the revitalization of our city.
