Old Brookville Resident Thanks Coordinator: 30 Days Of Gratitude
Write a letter showing your gratitude for someone or something in your community and we'll publish it in November.

OLD BROOKVILLE, NY — All month, Patch is asking readers to share who they're grateful for. Old Brookville resident Maia thanked her coordinator at work, Dorene, for her care and support.
Here's the message she shared:
"I would like to be grateful with Dorene. She has been the best coordinator since I arrived, always taking care of the exchange students making sure they have all their needs and enjoying what they are doing. I love that she really cares about them and enjoy doing what she does. She's always supportive and positive, I love that about her. I couldn't ask for another coordinator, you can count in her for everything and you never feel alone."

Living with gratitude goes beyond merely being thankful. It doesn't mean pretending bad things don't happen, but rather savoring the goodness, according to experts on the topic, including Robert Emmons, a University of California, Davis psychology professor who is known as the "father of gratitude."
Patch will continue publishing stories like this one for "30 Days Of Gratitude," a series to remind us of the goodness and joy in our lives. We want to share the gratitude as widely as we can, and invite you to fill out the form below to show thanks for someone in your life.
