Rare Hip Reconstruction Helps Glen Cove Woman Walk Again After Severe Pelvic Fracture (liherald.com) — An 82-year-old Glen Cove woman is walking independently again after a rare, custom hip and pelvic reconstruction following a severe fracture linked to osteoporosis. Treated by an orthopedic specialist and supported by Northwell Glen Cove Hospital and her local YMCA routine, she’s now cleared to resume volunteering and exercise, regaining the active lifestyle she enjoyed in Glen Cove.
   

2. Conditions at ICE holding rooms show signs of improvement, Suozzi says (newsday.com) — Glen Cove’s own Rep. Tom Suozzi says conditions have improved in the ICE holding rooms at the Central Islip federal courthouse after a judge blasted them as “putrid” and likely unlawful. He made an unannounced visit, inspected several empty cells, and reviewed recent intake logs, while other New York lawmakers continue pressing ICE and Homeland Security for answers.
   

3. Friends Academy 4th Graders Perform Piano Recital (thenorthshoreleader.com) — Residents at The Regency in Glen Cove were treated to an hour-long piano recital by Friends Academy fourth graders, who played everything from Beethoven to contemporary pieces. The visit doubled as a community service project, creating warm intergenerational connections over music, cookies, and cocoa.
   

4. Century club grows for Clarke wrestling (liherald.com) — Glen Cove hosted the Cove Cup wrestling tournament, where Clarke High’s Marcus Rosario earned his 100th varsity win and helped the Rams place third overall. Several teammates also took home titles, capping a strong early-season run through multiple Long Island tournaments.
