Police Confiscate Loaded Handgun During Glen Cove Traffic Stop
Two people were arrested after a police officer found a loaded handgun during a traffic stop.

A Glen Cove police officer confiscated a loaded handgun and drugs during a traffic stop on Wednesday.
Officer Kristen DeMetropolis pulled a vehicle over in Glen Cove and smelled a strong odor of marijuana from inside the car.
Police officials said DeMetropolis searched the vehicle and found a loaded .45 caliber handgun, drugs and paraphernalia.

The driver Christian Hamilton, 22, of Hempstead, was charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (intent to sell).
The passenger Naquan Webb, 22, of Westbury, was charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both men will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead today.

According to police officials, Officer DeMetropolis was assisted in the arrest by additional Glen Cove units as well as three Nassau County Marine Bureau Officers who were driving by at the time and stopped to assist.
