Theater Remains Closed as Negotiations Continue

The Glen Cove Cinemas marquee is still blank, though negotiations with its bank are ongoing, according to Mayor Ralph Suozzi.

The theater has been negotiating a refinancing deal with First Central Savings Bank that could mean upgrades to the interior and conversion to digital. Suozzi said he met with both parties Wednesday but had no progress to report.

"I'm in constant communication with the operator, I've spoken with the bank and I'm trying to work out a final outcome that reopens the theater with all the upgrades that were in the pipeline," Suozzi said.

The theater's operator did not return requests for comment.

First Central Savings Bank did not return a call for comment.
