BQE Fire Near Red Hook Leaves 3 Injured

RED HOOK, BROOKLYN — A fire erupted on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway near the Hamilton Avenue exit on Friday afternoon, sending flames and thick, black smoke pouring into the sky and firefighters rushing to the scene.

Three people suffered non-life threatening injuries in the blaze, which happened in a truck on the interstate between Atlantic and Hamilton avenues. The fire started around noon and has since been brought under control.
