Man Gets 100 Years For Red Hook Gang Shooting That Killed Unborn Baby: Report

Marquise Fredericks will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the drive-by shooting, a report said.

RED HOOK, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after he opened fire during a drive-by shooting that wounded four people, including a pregnant mother whose baby died, according to a report.

Marquise Fredericks, 21, got 100 years in prison for his role in the August 2015 gang-related shooting, which authorities said was retaliation for another gang killing, according to the New York Daily News.

Fredericks was a resident of the Gowanus Houses housing project and opened fire in the front yard of public housing in Red Hook, according to authorities.

He struck four victims: Devin Callahan, Special-Caijae Houston, Destiny Jones and Jemini Mitchell; Houston was five months pregnant at the time and lost her unborn child because of the shooting.

"This was about a retaliatory shooting on the wrong block," Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said at the time. "This family had nothing to do with the senseless madness the shooters carried out."
