Manhattan Bank Robber Being Hunted By Police After Gramercy Attack
The man tried to rob two banks in one afternoon, according to police.

GRAMERCY, NY — Police are searching for a bank robber who has tried to steal from two Manhattan banks, one time successfully.
Officers are searching for the man, who they have not identified, after he tried to rob two banks on Wednesday afternoon, police said. The man, who police believe to be in his 40s, first entered an HSBC bank at 15 Union Square West at about 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday. The NYPD says the man approached a bank teller there and handed her a note demanding money. He ran from the bank when the teller walked away, authorities said. Shortly after that, the same man is believed to have entered a Chase bank at 1260 Broadway at about 1:40 p.m. Police say that the man handed another note to the bank teller. When the Chase teller handed over the money, the man ran from the bank, authorities said. Police aren't sure how much money he took.

Investigators released surveillance images of the man on Thursday and are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating him.
