Black Market Butt Implants Kill Another Woman In NYC, Police Say
A 31-year-old woman died during black market butt augmentation surgery in Gramercy, police said.

GRAMERCY, NY — Another woman has been killed during a butt injection gone wrong, according to police and the city's medical examiner.
Latesha Bynum died on July 27, 12 days after a black-market butt augmentation procedure caused her to call 911 complaining of dizziness and chest pains, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. The city's medical examiner has ruled her death a homicide, police said on Thursday.
Bynum, a 31-year-old from Harlem, was in a Gramercy-area apartment on East 21st Street to get the "augmentation implant," the police spokesman said. She is believed to have called 911 herself, according to the police.

Black market butt injections have killed a number of women throughout the U.S. in recent years. On Monday, a New York City beautician with no medical training pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2013 death of a woman who died after a black market silicone injection.
