A car fire on FDR Drive near 34th Street caused massive traffic delays on Thursday afternoon.

MURRAY HILL, NY — A car fire on FDR Drive caused massive traffic delays Thursday afternoon.

A car caught fire on the drive near 34th Street about 4:08 p.m., an FDNY spokesman told Patch. It was quickly put out and no one was injured, the spokesman said. It is unknown how the car caught fire.

The city cautioned that there were "extensive delays" in the area because of the fire.
