The Harlem resident has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield, police said.

GRAMERCY, NY — The driver of a black minivan who ran over a 60-year-old woman near the Queens-Midtown Tunnel on Sunday has been arrested, according to police.
Robert Schuman, 63, of Harlem, was arrested and charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and leaving the scene of an accident, police said. The woman, who was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition, seriously injured her left leg in the accident.
The Toyota Sienna was exiting the Queens-Midtown tunnel at 38th Street when police say Schuman struck the woman while she was crossing the street. Police said Schuman did not stop and fled eastbound on East 37 Street against the flow of traffic before the vehicle turned northbound onto First Avenue.
