Machete-Wielding Man Slashes Victim At Union Square: NYPD
Police are searching for a man who hacked another in the head with a machete at Union Square Friday morning, authorities said.
GRAMERCY, NY — Police are searching for a brute who slashed a man in the head with a machete at Union Square and then ran off, authorities said.
A 911 call of a man chopping a person in Union Square came through at roughly 11:30 a.m. Emergency responders rushed to the scene and treated the victim, who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries, before transporting him to Bellevue Hospital, a police spokeswoman said.
Officers are searching for a 5-foot-10 man who fled the scene in a black shirt and multicolored shorts, he bolted east on 13th Street, police said.
