MADISON SQUARE PARK, NY — Firefighters are battling a blaze on the roof of a building across from Madison Square Park, fire officials said Friday.

The fire was reported about 11:09 a.m. at 27 Madison Ave. No injuries were immediately reported, an FDNY spokesman told Patch.

The appellate court's intricate facade wad designated a landmark in 1966 by the city, and the building itself was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
