Man Dies After Jump From Roof Of Murray Hill Hotel, Police Say

A 51-year-old man died on Thursday after police say he jumped from the roof of a Murray Hill hotel.

MURRAY HILL, NY — A 51-year-old man died after he jumped from the roof of a Murray Hill hotel, police said.

The man, who has not been identified, was seen jumping from the top of the Shelburne, a hotel on Lexington Avenue and 37th Street, at about 4:38 p.m. Thursday, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. The man fell to the hotel's courtyard below and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Police believe that the man intentionally jumped from the roof, the NYPD spokesman said. The New York Daily was first to report news of the man's death.
