'A Toothache' Art Exhibit Coming This Saturday to Gramercy Gallery
The works of students of the School of Visual Arts blur the line between private and public life, the event description says.

Everyone gets a toothache sometimes.
That's the philosophy that inspired the School of Visual Arts' new exhibit coming to the Gramercy Gallery on Saturday, Aug. 6 called "A Toothache." The artists were selected by a jury of their peers to present art that comments on the commonality of a toothache among genders, races, ethnicities and ages.
"Taking its title from filmmaker Krzysztof Kieslowski’s idea that all people, regardless of age, nationality, faith or gender, experience the same pain from a toothache, the work on view in the exhibition blurs the line between private and public life," the event description says. "By bringing their personal lives into the foreground, the artists in the exhibition invite an aesthetic response from their viewers through personal expressions in their work."
