Woman Who Accused NYPD Officer Of Groping Her Settles Lawsuit

The woman who accused an NYPD officer of groping her will received $10,000 to settle her lawsuit.

UNION SQUARE, NY — A woman who accused an NYPD officer of groping her while he investigated her separate assault claims has settled a lawsuit she filed against the city for $10,000, the city said.

In a federal lawsuit, the woman accused Lukasz Skorzewski of the NYPD of groping her. Skorzewski and retired Lieutenant Adam Lamboy were investigating the woman's report that she was assaulted in her Union Square apartment in January 2013. In July of that year, the officers traveled to interview the woman in Seattle, where she had moved, according to the suit.

A law department spokesperson confirmed that the case was settled, and said that $5,000 would come from the officers and another $5,000 from the city.
