4 Hospitalized After Carbon Monoxide Alarm Goes Off In Great Neck

Four people were hospitalized after a carbon monoxide alarm went off in a Great Neck building on Friday morning, police say.

According to authorities, numerous people complained they were feeling dizzy after a carbon monoxide alarm went off in a medical professional building, located at 310 East Shore Road, at 11:43 a.m. Numerous tests were conducted and there was no sign of any hazardous gas, police say. The building was evacuated as a precaution.

Fifty-five people who complained of dizziness and nausea were treated at the scene by first responders. Four people were taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The building was deemed safe and people were allowed to re-enter the building at 2 p.m.

The Nassau County Fire Marshall is investigating the incident.

The following responders were at the scene: Nassau County Police, Nassau County Fire Marshall, Nassau County Office of Emergency Management, Great Neck Alerts Fire Department, Great Neck Vigilant Fire Department, Manhasset/Lakeville Fire Department and the Port Washington Fire Department.
