Bill Clinton, Giuliani Rally for County Exec Candidates
Former President Clinton is supporting Tom Suozzi, while ex-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is lining up behind Ed Mangano's bid for a second term.
Both candidates for Nassau County Executive picked up major endorsements this week, with former President Bill Clinton throwing his support behind Tom Suozzi at a Great Neck fundraiser.
Meanwhile, New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani is scheduled to publicly endorse County Executive Ed Mangano Thursday afternoon at a scheduled event in Bethpage.
The Fire Marshal Benevolent Association is also slated to endorse Mangano at the event.
In a poll released earlier this month, Mangano led Suozzi by a 52 percent to 35 percent margin.
But polls failed to predict Mangano's upset victory over Suozzi in 2009, when Mangano stopped Suozzi's bid to serve a third term as county executive.
