Man Fatally Shot By Cop In Great Neck Was In Midst Of Crime Spree
He committed several crimes, including fatally striking a pedestrian and carjacking multiple vehicles, over the weekend, reports say.

UPDATED on Thursday: The man who was fatally shot by police following a road rage incident on Monday morning in Great Neck is the sam man who committed several crimes, including fatally striking a pedestrian and carjacking multiple vehicles in New York City and New Jersey over the weekend, ABC reports.
According to authorities, Michael Delloyd Ward, 46, of Washington, Maryland, was involved in an incident with two other drivers on Maple Street and East Shore Road, which led to him hitting one driver on the head with an aluminum baseball bat at 10:30 a.m.
Ward also struck a good Samaritan, who was offering assistance to a responding police officer, on the head, and attacked the police officer with the same bat, police say. The officer then shot Ward to stop his attack, police say.

Ward was taken to North Shore University Hospital- Northwell Health in Manhasset and was pronounced deceased by emergency room staff. The two victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
According to ABC, Ward's crime spree spanned from New Jersey to three New York City boroughs:

- Ward assaulted a gas station worker with brass knuckles and carjacked a vehicle on Saturday in Bordentown, New Jersey.
- He knocked a 77-year-old man to the ground and stole cash from him in the Bronx.
- He fatally ran over a pedestrian in East Williamsburg early Sunday morning.
- He carjacked a vehicle on the Lower East Side and then carjacked another vehicle and punched a driver in the face in Tribeca on Monday morning.
- He then headed to Great Neck.
