Great Neck Pocket Track Work To Continue Extra Week: LIRR To Mayor
The work will continue through December 2 and mean buses will continue to replace some trains between Great Neck and Port Washington.

GREAT NECK, NY — The track work on the Great Neck Long Island Rail Road pocket track continues, and with it service changes and construction disruptions to local residents. The mayor of Great Neck Plaza advised residents on Tuesday that the LIRR was unable to finish the work as planned, and it will continue next week.
The LIRR will require another additional week of work, from Monday, Nov. 28 until Friday, Dec. 2. The work will take place during the day and night, the LIRR told Mayor Ted Rosen. Residents living near Colonial Road Bridge should expect the most disruption.
Buses will replace trains between Great Neck and Port Washington from 10:30 p.m. until 3:45 a.m. See the full service changes here.
