Rebels move to developmental league, not eligible for postseason play.

The Rebels will be part of a seven-team developmental league approved in January by Section VIII, Nassau's governing body for high school sports. The league is known as Conference V.

A rivalry that began in 1958 with the opening of Great Neck South will be renewed this fall. won the last meeting, 29-14.

Great Neck South is coming off a 1-7 season, highlighted a 44-33 win over Westbury in Week 5. The Rebels also dropped tough decisions to Herricks (14-12), Bellmore JFK (45-30) and Jericho (18-6).
