Kings Point Senior Charged With Assault

The man and two officers were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment after the incident, police said.

KINGS POINT, NY — A 77-year-old Kings Point man was arrested for an assault that occurred Sunday night, Nassau County police said.

Police responded to a Split Rock Drive residence around 10 p.m. July 19 for a disturbance. Police said Dariush Zargaroff appeared to be intoxicated and became "irate and combative" with officers.

When police arrived at the residence, Zargaroff kicked and pushed an officer who then fell, according to police. Zargaroff resisted when officers tried to place him under arrest, police added. Another officer's back was injured the struggle, police said.
