Man Assaults 94-Year-Old In Great Neck Plaza: Police
The elderly man suffered a broken leg.

A man was arrested for assaulting a 94-year-old man, causing him to break his leg, on Sunday afternoon in Great Neck Plaza, police say.
According to authorities, Daryl Wright, 39, of Manhasset, became irrational and started verbally arguing with the elderly man, and violently pushed him to the ground in front of Best Market, located at 40 Great Neck Road, at 12:05 p.m.
Bystanders were able to provide assisting officers with a description of Wright and his vehicle before he fled the scene, police say.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Wright's vehicle a short distance away and placed him under arrest.
The 94-year-old man was taken to an area hospital and treated for a fractured femur.

Wright was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree grand larceny, second-degree possession of a forged instrument and five vehicle and traffic law charges.
It was also discovered during his arrest processing that Wright was involved in an unrelated incident involving fraud, police say.
He will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
