• Three GNPS Students Named Regeneron STS Scholars (greatneck.k12.ny.us) — Three Great Neck Public Schools seniors from North and South High have been named 2026 Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholars, placing them among the nation’s top 300 young researchers. Their projects span environmental equity, genetic regulation, and AI for early cognitive decline, bringing national recognition and funding back to Great Neck’s science programs and teachers.
   

• Long Islanders competing for skating spots in Winter Olympics (newsday.com) — Great Neck’s own Jimmy Ma is in 11th place after the men’s short program at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, vying for one of three Olympic men’s singles spots. Alongside fellow Long Islanders Audrey Shin and ice dancers Oona and Gage Brown, he’ll learn Sunday whether his performance earns a trip to the Milan Cortina Winter Games.
   

• Meet Esphyr Slobodkina, the Russian-Born Abstractionist Who Shook Mid-Century New York (artnet.com) — A pioneering abstract artist and author of “Caps for Sale,” Esphyr Slobodkina spent nearly three decades living and working in a custom-designed home and studio in Great Neck with her mother.
