Pedrito Martinez Group Coming to North Shore
Grammy nominee bringing Afro-Cuban jazz to Port Washington's Landmark on Main Street.

Ravi Coltrane, Taj Mahal, Eric Clapton, Roger Waters and Derek Trucks are among the many Pedrito Martinez Group fans. And now Long Islanders can discover why on Friday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m., when world-renowned Cuban conga player Pedrito Martinez and his band perform at Port Washington’s Landmark on Main Street.
Music lovers are encouraged to bring their dance shoes and get up and dance to what the New York Times described as “complex, blenderized Africa-to-the-New-World funk.”
Appearing regularly at Guantanamera in Manhattan, the Pedrito Martinez Group has appeared at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Apollo Theater, The Newport Jazz Festival, globalFest, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, TED Conference and TEDx, The Montreal Jazz Festival, The Red Sea Festival, Montreux Jazz Fest, The Sydney Festival, Bonnaroo, Yoshi’s/San Francisco, The Umbria Jazz Festivals, Saratoga Jazz Festival, Yerba Buena Gardens Festival/San Francisco, Festival Internationale, Playboy Jazz Festival, SF Jazz, The Barbican, The Jazz Standard and Joe’s Pub NYC.
