Dix Hills Man Accused Of Stabbing Man, Patronizing Prostitute

The man was involved in an argument that turned violent at a Westbury motel on Thursday, police say.

A Dix Hills man who went to a Westbury motel to engage in prostitution activities was arrested after he stabbed another man during a physical altercation on Thursday morning, police say.

According to authorities, 50-year-old Mitchell Kushner entered a room at Pines Motor Lodge, located at 101 Taylor Ave., to participate in prostitution activities when he became involved in a verbal argument with a 31-year-old man at 11:15 a.m. Police say the argument became physical and Kushner stabbed the man multiple times with a knife. A 20-year-old woman tried push Kushner off the man, but Kushner swung his knife at her, police say. She was not struck by the knife. The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Kushner fled the scene and was arrested at his Seaman Neck Road residence following an investigation, police say.

Kushner was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree attempted assault, two counts of second-degree attempted assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon and third-degree patronizing a prostitute.

He was arraigned on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 at First District Court in Hempstead.
