Fight Between Brothers Leads To Stabbing, House Fire: PD

The two brothers and their mother were hospitalized on Monday morning. Arson detectives are investigating.

A fight between two brothers led to a stabbing and their home being set on fire in Dix Hills on Monday morning, police say.

According to authorities, a 30-year-old man stabbed his 32-year-old brother in the neck inside their Northwood Court home at 11 a.m. The 30-year-old, at some point, also set a fire in the basement, police say.

The older brother was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police tased the younger brother during the incident, authorities say. He was taken to Huntington Hospital.

The parents were home during the dispute and the mother was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
