Man Killed In Single-Car Long Island Expressway Crash
The vehicle veered off the roadway into the woods on Sunday night, police say.

A man was killed in a single-vehicle Long Island Expressway crash on Sunday evening, police say.
According to authorities, a 55-year-old man was driving a 2011 Hyundai westbound on the Long Island Expressway in Melville, between Exits 50 and 49N, when the vehicle veered off the roadway into the woods, near the North Service Road, at 11:15 p.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
