Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Melville

The 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Melville on Friday morning, police say.

According to authorities, William Brady, 25, of Melville, was walking across Pinelawn Road, north of Express Drive North, when he was struck by a 2009 Toyota Rav4 at 4 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, 52-year-old Lindenhurst resident Roger Melendez, was not hurt. The passenger, a 49-year-old woman, was also not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
