Silver Alert Issued for Dix Hills Teen Who May Be Suicidal

Suffolk Police issued a Silver Alert on Tuesday for a Dix Hills teen who may be suicidal.

According to authorities, 17-year-old Gabrielle Abatantuno was last seen leaving her residence, a group home on Arista Drive, on Monday at 7 p.m. on foot.

Police described Abatantuno as white, 4 feet 11 inches tall and approximately 175 pounds. She has brown eyes, black hair and wears glasses. She was wearing an orange sweater, a dark-colored pea coat, black boots and dark jeans.

Anyone with information on Abatantuno’s location is asked to contact Second Squad detectives at 631-854-8252 or call 911.

Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
