Teen Robbed at Knifepoint While Stopped at Red Light

Police say a man climbed into the teen's car near the LIE last week.

DIX HILLS, NY – A teen was robbed at knifepoint while he was stopped at a red light in Dix Hills last Thursday evening, Suffolk Police said.

According to police, a 17-year-old male was driving a car on Deer Park Avenue when he stopped at a red light at the intersection of MacNiece Place around 6:30 p.m. An adult male approached the car, entered it through the rear door, displayed a knife and demanded property.

The teen gave the man his cellphone and wallet. The robber fled on foot. No arrests have been made.
