• School News, December 18, Southampton Town (27east.com) — Hampton Bays families can celebrate local students this week, with first graders at Hampton Bays Elementary staging their colorful “Holidays Around the World” performance for relatives and friends. At the high school, dozens of Hampton Bays students were honored for top academic achievement with inductions into the Science and newly formed Math honor societies.
   

• Multiple Agencies Fight, Extinguish East Quogue Brush Fire on Sunrise Highway (27east.com) — Hampton Bays firefighters helped knock down a potentially dangerous brush fire along Sunrise Highway in East Quogue, stopping flames from spreading toward the Pine Barrens. Working with neighboring departments and police, crews quickly contained three separate fires between exits 64 and 65, with drone surveillance later confirming no further spread.
