1 Dead, 2 Injured In East Harlem Stabbing, Police Say

One 62-year-old suspect has been arrested.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A 62-year-old man has been arrested and accused of stabbing one person to death and injuring two others, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, on Friday at 6:13 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress in the vicinity of East 108 Street and 2nd Avenue.

When cops arrived at the scene, they found a 17-year-old boy with stab wounds to his chest and lower abdomen, a 22-year-old man with a stab wound to the left arm, and a 62-year-old male with a laceration to their forehead, officials said.

All of the victims were taken to local hospitals, and the 17-year-old later died from his injuries, police said.

A suspect named Saul Sanchez, 62, has been arrested and charged with murder in the second degree, assault in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, police said.
