2,000-Spot Waiting List Opens For Regulated E Harlem Apartments
Rents start at $$1,667 for studio apartments offered through the waiting list.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A waiting list with 2,000 spots for rent-regulated apartments at a number of East Harlem buildings is accepting applications through April 15, according to the city's Housing Connect website.
Apartments offered through the waiting list are located at buildings financed through the City Department of Housing Preservation and Development's Article XI tax exemption program. The units are available for renters earning 150% and 165% of the Area Median Income — levels that HPD considers "middle income."
Waiting list spots are open for apartments ranging from studios to four-bedrooms. Rents for the units begin at $1,667 per month for the cheapest studios and rise as high as $3,714 per month for the priciest four-bedrooms. Renters will need to earn at least $57,155 to qualify for the least expensive apartments offered through the waiting list. Prospective tenants can earn well into the six figures and still qualify for the apartments.
