Representative Adriano Espaillat Touts 2025 Legislative Highlights

Legislation Focused on Health Care, Food Stability, Education, Immigration and Community Safety.

Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) released an overview of his legislative activity, introducing more than 40 pieces of legislation during 2025, and first session of the 119th Congress. These measures reflect Espaillat’s priorities on behalf of the constituents across New York’s 13th congressional district addressing a slate of issues ranging from economic growth and affordability, public safety, healthcare, infrastructure, immigration and education.

“During the 119th Congress, I have been proud to introduce legislation responding directly to the needs and concerns of my constituents and challenges faced in communities around the nation, issues ranging from health care, food and nutrition, education and public safety, immigration and protecting all families who call my district home,” said Rep. Espaillat. “This year, I introduced more than 40 pieces of legislation reflecting the everyday needs of working families, youth, seniors, and small businesses to help them thrive and succeed.”

  • H.R. 2974 – Training and Nutrition Stability Act: to ensure seniors and their families have access to food stamps.
  • H.R. 1787 - Roberto Clemente Commemorative Coin Act: honoring the legacy and impact of Roberto Clemente.
  • H.R. 6133 - Jumpstart on College: to create a grant program to increase early college and dual enrollment college courses for high schoolers.
  • H.R. 1061 – Protecting Sensitive Locations Act: to ban immigration raids in places of worship, health facilities, and schools.
  • H.R. 4651 - Immigration Enforcement Staff Body Camera Accountability Act: to require immigration enforcement staff to wear body cameras while on duty.
  • H.R. 426 - Housing Survivors of Major Disasters Act: to increase methods to prove homeownership for survivors of natural disasters to access FEMA assistance.
  • H.R. 5844 - Harm Reduction Through Community Engagement Act: to require community input before methadone clinics are placed in neighborhoods.
