4 'Affordable' Harlem Apartments Up For Grabs On Housing Lottery

The so-called affordable apartments in Hamilton Heights require a minimum $82,800 household income to be eligible. Here's how to apply.

HARLEM, NY — A set of so-called "affordable" apartments were listed this week on the city's housing lottery, but families must take home upwards of $82,800 per year to even be eligible.

The four apartments at 1646 Amsterdam Ave. — between West 141st and 142nd streets in Hamilton Heights — include a two-bedroom unit and three three-bedroom units.

To apply for the two-bedroom, a two-person household needs an annual income of at least $82,800, or no more than $114,600. Households as large as five people can apply for that apartment, with the same $82,800 minimum income.
