68 Renovated Harlem Apartments Offered At Below-Market Rates

HARLEM, NY — A lottery for 68 apartment units renting at below-market values in Harlem will begin accepting applications on Friday, Dec. 28, according to the city's Housing Connect website.
The apartments are located in six different buildings in Central Harlem and are all newly renovated, according to the city. Rents range from $896 per month for a studio to $1,339 per month for a three-bedroom apartment.
All the units are offered at 60 percent of the Area Median Income — the metric the city uses to determine rents and income requirements for below-market housing. Individuals earning at least $32,606 per year are eligible to apply for an apartment.

Income requirements rise with household size. A household of two must earn an annual combine income of $34,971, a household of three must earn at least $41,966, a household of four must earn at least $41,966, a household of five must earn at least $48,446 and a household of six must earn at least $48,446.
Five percent of the units will be reserved for people with mobility-related disabilities and two percent will be reserved for people with hearing or vision disabilities.

Prospective tenants may apply for the lottery through the city's Housing Connect website. A mail-in application can be requested by sending a self-addressed envelope to: Bronx Pro Group 1605 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Bronx, NY 10453. Applications must be sent or postmarked by March 5.
