90-Year-Old Mugged In East Harlem Building Elevator, Police Say

A man and a woman forced the victim against an elevator wall and stole his wallet.

EAST HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a pair of thieves who mugged an elderly man inside of an East Harlem apartment building elevator, police said.

The man and woman followed their 90-year-old victim into his apartment building on East 124th Street and Madison Avenue on Saturday, May 4. When the victim entered the building's elevator, the man and woman forced him up against a wall and stole his wallet, police said.

The muggers fled the scene and later used the man's debit card at a West 125th Street Burger King and a Shop Fair Supermarket on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, police said. The victim's wallet also contained $300 in cash.

The NYPD released photos of the two suspects (seen above) but could not provide physical descriptions.
