Applications are open for 102 affordable apartments in the Victoria Tower Residences, the large new building going up on 125th Street.

HARLEM, NY — More than a hundred below-market-rate apartments are up for grabs in the Victoria Tower Residences, the newly built tower on 125th Street in the heart of Central Harlem.

Applications are open for the 102 apartments, which were listed Monday on the city's Housing Connect website. They include 10 studios, 41 one-bedrooms and 51 two-bedrooms, available to a broad range of incomes.

The most affordable units are the studios, four of which are available to people making up to 50 percent of the area median income (AMI) — or between $28,835 and $41,800. Monthly rent for those studios is $755.

The state-funded project also includes a renovation of the historic theater, which will create multiple performance spaces, as well as retail storefronts. Tenants will include the restaurant Sushi Inoue and the famed Apollo Theatre, which is expanding from its main space a few doors down into the two new theaters on the third and fourth floors of the Victoria Tower.

Leasing is also open for the more than 100 market-rent apartments included in the tower, which is estimated to be completed sometime next year.

Building amenities include a doorman, gym, laundry room, media room and a private outdoor space. It is within walking distance of the 2-3, A-C, and B subway lines.
