Teen Cashier Killed In East Harlem Burger King Robbery: Police
Kristal Bayron-Nieves, 19, was shot dead inside an East Harlem Burger King early Sunday morning, police said.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A teenage girl is dead after a masked man tried to rob the East Harlem fast food restaurant where she worked Sunday morning, according to police.
Kristal Bayron-Nieves, 19, was fatally shot inside a Burger King on East 116th Street between Third and Lexington avenues about 12:45 a.m., according to police.
The unidentified gunman reportedly pistol-whipped a customer and punched another employee before shooting Bayron-Nieves, according to police.

The would-be robber — who can be seen in surveillance footage dressed in black, carrying a plastic bag and wielding a gun — then fled west down East 116th Street, police said.

Bayron-Nieves was rushed to Metropolitan Hospital but doctors were unable to save her life, officials said.
According to police, the teen lived just a few blocks from the restaurant.
