Cops ID Gunman Who Killed Harlem Man Walking His Dog
A 20-year-old man is accused of firing the shot that killed a man walking his dog in Harlem.
HARLEM, NY — The NYPD has identified a suspect in the death of a 40-year-old Harlem man who was fatally shot with a stray bullet, police said.
Investigators believe Eric Bautista, 20, is the gunman who fired off the rifle round that eventually struck and killed Winston McKay while he was walking his dog on the morning of June 10, police said.
Officers found McKay suffering a gunshot wound to the right leg on Amsterdam Avenue and West 146 Street. EMS rushed the man to Harlem Hospital where he died of his injuries, police said.

Investigators released photos from surveillance footage taken at a building on the same street of the shooting that show the gunman holding a rile and opening fire. Police said the suspect, now identified as Bautista, was involved in a dispute with another in which he threatened to shoot him.
When the man ignored Bautista's threats and walked away from him, the gunman fired one shot, police said. That shot missed its target and struck McKay, police said.
