Developer Plans 8-Story Harlem Apartment Building
Construction permits for an eight-story apartment building on West 136th Street have been filed with the city Department of Buildings.

HARLEM, NY — Developers have filed permits with the city Department of Buildings to construct an eight-story apartment building on West 136th Street between Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. boulevards, according to city records.
The new building will rise 75 feet and contain 19,980 square feet of buildable residential space, according to construction permits. With a planned 29 apartments, the average unit in the building will be about 688 square feet large.
The development will also contain 3,010 square feet of community space, but plans do not specify what that space will be used for.

Amenities in the new development will include bicycle parking and a public roof terrace, according to building plans.

The construction site is currently occupied by a four story building. No plans to demolish the building have been filed with the city Department of Buildings, according to public records.
The developer behind the new eight-story apartment complex is listed at Steven Neumann of Coltown Properties, according to building permits. The architecture firm JFA Assocaites is listed on permits as the designer of the new building.
