HARLEM, NY — An elderly woman was robbed while walking down a Harlem block last week, according to police.

At about 5:30 p.m., a 96-year-old woman was walking near West 127 St. and Frederick Douglass Blvd. when a man approached her while riding a moped, police said.

The crook then snatched a necklace from the victim's neck, causing her to tumble to the ground, while the suspect quickly fled on a black moped heading eastbound on West 127th Street, police said.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Officials released a photo of a person they say is connected to the robbery in hopes of identifying them.
