Flooding Stalls 6 Train Between Manhattan, Bronx: MTA

A "water condition" was reported at the 3rd Avenue and 138th Street station.

HARLEM, NY — Subway passengers were stranded Tuesday afternoon when flooding forced the MTA to suspend 6 train service between Upper Manhattan and the Bronx.

The MTA suspended 6 service between 125th Street and Hunts Point Avenue in both directions around 3:30 p.m., according to the transit agency. A rainstorm that slammed New York City Tuesday caused a "water condition" (flood) inside the Third Avenue and East 138th Street station, according to the MTA.

During the suspension, MTA crews were attempting to asses whether trains could safely use the station.
