Frieze New York Art Fair: Programs, Galleries, Ticket Info
Some of the most influential artists and galleries in the world are participating in this year's Frieze art fair on Randall's Island.

RANDALL'S ISLAND, NY — Artist and galleries from all around the world are descending on Randall's Island this weekend for the seventh Frieze New York art fair. After two days of previews, the fair opened to the public Friday, May 4 and will run through the evening of Sunday, May 6.
This year's Frieze art fair will feature more than 190 galleries from 30 countries, organizers said in a press release. The art on display for Frieze includes works by both newly-discovered artists as well as some of the most influential figures of the 20th century, organizers said.
"This year’s exhibitor list combines the strongest galleries in the world with the most interesting young galleries from New York and beyond, so Frieze New York promises a diverse range of work from the blue-chip to new discoveries," Victoria Siddall, director of Frieze Fairs, said in a statement.

Programs:
With more than 190 galleries participating in this year's festival, the Frieze New York is going to be a jam-packed three days.
Returning galleries such as Acquavella Galleries, Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, Gavin Brown’s Enterprise, Gagosian will be complemented by newcomers such as Bridget Donahue, David Lewis, Simone Subal, Essex Street, JTT and Château Shatto. The lineup of international galleries includes: Massimo de Carlo (Johannesburg), The Modern Institute (Glasgow), Vintage Galéria (Budapest) and Dastan’s Basement (Tehran).
This year's festival will also include new programming such as Frieze New York Live — a platform for performances, installations and interactive projects — and the Frieze Artist Award — an open call for emerginging artist to realize a site-specific work.
Ticket information:
Tickets for Frieze New York are limited, and event organizers recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Valid photo identification must be provided for discounted tickets and children younger than 12 get into the fair for free. Tickets can be purchased online.

Getting to Randall's Island:
Randall's Island is located in the East River right between the shores of East Harlem, the South Bronx and Astoria, Queens. The fair operates dedicated ferry services, valet, and general parking, but the island is also accessible by public transportation.
If you want to save a few bucks, catch the M35 bus on Harlem's West 125th Street. The 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, B, D, A and C subway lines and the Metro North Railroad all stop along West 125th Street.
