Girl Groped At Harlem's Marcus Garvey Park, Police Say

The suspect fled into the park after groping the girl on the corner of East 124th Street and Madison Avenue.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted for molesting a young girl in a Harlem park, police said.

The man approached a 9-year-old girl on the morning of Wednesday, June 19 inside Marcus Garvey Park on East 124th Street and Madison Avenue, police said. When the man was close to the girl, he groped her buttocks, police said.

After the groping, the man fled into the park heading west, police said. The girl was not physically injured during the assault.

Police described the suspect as a man who was last seen wearing a burgundy ski cap, a black and white plaid shirt, blue jeans, and black and white sneakers while carrying a black umbrella. Investigators released a photo of the man (seen above) taken on a security camera near the park.
