Gunman Shoots Ex, New Boyfriend In East Harlem, Police Say

A 27-year-old man was killed and a 26-year-old woman was hospitalized in stable condition during the shooting.

EAST HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is hunting a man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend and her new love interest in East Harlem, police said.

Officers responded to a shooting call Sunday at 401 E. 102 St., a New York City Housing Authority building on First Avenue, and found 27-year-old Damian Coleman suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a 26-year-old woman suffering a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.

EMS rushed Coleman to Metropolitan Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The woman was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

Police identified the shooter as a 31-year-old man who used to date the woman and was known to both victims. The man fled the apartment building by running north on First Avenue following the shooting, police said.
